What Happens After a K9 Bed Bug Inspection?
After your inspection, Cimex K9 will explain the areas that were inspected and identify any locations where the detection dog alerted to possible bed bug activity.
Our role is to provide independent inspection information—not to sell pest-control treatment. Because Cimex K9 does not perform treatment or profit from treatment sales, our findings are not influenced by whether extermination services are purchased.
If the K9 Does Not Alert
A no-alert inspection means the detection dog did not identify bed bug odor in the areas inspected at the time of the search. This can provide valuable reassurance, especially when there are unexplained bites, suspicious marks, or concerns following travel.
However, no inspection method can guarantee that a property is completely free of bed bugs. Very low-level activity, inaccessible areas, environmental conditions, or recent chemical use may affect an inspection. We will explain any limitations that apply to your situation.
If the K9 Alerts
When the detection dog alerts, the handler will identify the specific area of concern and explain the finding. Depending on the circumstances, additional visual inspection, monitoring, or evaluation by a licensed pest-control professional may be appropriate.
A K9 alert helps narrow the area of concern so that decisions do not have to be based solely on bites, skin reactions, or guesswork.
Before Authorizing Treatment
Ask the pest-control provider to explain:
- What evidence supports the treatment recommendation
- Which rooms or areas require treatment
- Whether adjoining rooms or units should be inspected
- Which treatment method is recommended and why
- What preparation is required
- What follow-up service or warranty is included
- Whether post-treatment verification is recommended
Choosing a Treatment Provider
Cimex K9 does not provide pest-control treatment and does not control the services, pricing, guarantees, or performance of treatment companies.
Customers are responsible for evaluating and selecting a licensed pest-control provider. When requested, Cimex K9 may provide general information about companies that serve the customer’s area, but the final decision belongs to the customer.
Post-Treatment Verification
A follow-up K9 inspection may help determine whether bed bug odor is still present after treatment. The timing of a post-treatment inspection depends on the treatment method used, the products applied, and the instructions provided by the pest-control company.
Before scheduling a verification inspection, tell Cimex K9 which treatment method was used and when the treatment was completed.
